This week, we have finished reading The Secret Garden. We have been writing and editing our own play scripts based on one part of the book. We thought carefully about how to include the features of play scripts including detailed stage directions. In reading, we have been thinking about the impact that the garden has had on Colin and how much he has changed. On Thursday we all enjoyed watching the rest of The Secret Garden film.
In maths, we have continued to work on decimals. We have been learning about hundredths and thinking about what this would look like on a place value grid. We have also been partitioning decimals such as 0.87 into tenths and hundredths such as –
0.87 = 8 tenths and 7 hundredths or
0.87 = 7 tenths and 17 hundredths.
We have also been learning about factor pairs and we have thought about how we can ensure that we have found all of the factor pairs of a number.
On Thursday afternoon we visited Wallingford Baptist Church and we all enjoyed completing the Easter activities.
Swimming – You should have received a letter if your child is swimming in either term 5 or 6. It should be the case that anyone without a letter will not be swimming in Year 4. Please let me know if there is any confusion!
WE WOULD LIKE TO WISH YOU ALL A HAPPY EASTER AND HOPE THAT YOU HAVE A GOOD BREAK!

Well done to everyone who has continued to read regularly.
