Following a busy SATs week last week, Class Three (along with the rest of the school), have been enjoying lots of creative lessons. In Class Three each child created their own Tudor portrait. They then painted them, focusing on using an authentic Tudor colour scheme – dark reds/purples/browns etc.
This week has also been multicultural week. Each class were transported to another country. Class Three have been learning all about Japan. Earlier on in the week we learnt how to complete a Sudoku puzzle, create origami and speak some basic Japanese phrases.
On Thursday and Friday the whole school split into mixed aged groups and visited each class. During their whistle stop tour of the world they found out some key information about each country, completed lots of quizzes and games as well as making all sort of crafts. We even had a special story teller from America.
I hope you managed to pop into school on Friday afternoon to see some of the activities your child got up to. Have a fantastic half term and I look forward to seeing everyone, after a well-earned rest, in the final summer term.
N.B. no homework throughout the half term. Continue with lots of reading and timetable practice.
