Week 6 (10/10/2016)

We have been working hard and learning lots in maths lessons. We have moved on from representing two-digit numbers by using cubes and egg boxes, to recording numbers in numerals, words and pictures.

At home, try writing numbers from zero to 10 or 20 and drawing some cubes to show each number.

In English we have used the Titanic as a base for our literacy work. Our focus has been to become more familiar with tricky words in phase three phonics. We have been identifying them in sentences and learning how to recognise them within a range of texts.  ( a as an at if in is it of off on can dad had back and get big him his not got up mum but put the to I no go into has let did ) These are the tricky words we have been learning about.

Thank you so much to all the amazing parents who volunteered to paint the giant pencils which will be used in the courtyard area.
