Dear Parents/Carers,
This week the children have started talking about autumn. They talked about what autumn reminds them of and read the poem ‘Grand Slam’. During our hall time the children explored some of the words from the poem including, swishing, floating, falling and sweeping, using their bodies.
In Maths the children have been learning about repeating pattern. We talked about what repeating is “the same again and again” as well as talking about what patterns can be made from including shapes, size and colours. The children challenged themselves to create and continue repeating patterns.
The children have been exploring the percussion instruments and during Independent learning time have worked together to create a percussion orchestra with dancers moving to the music.
Next week we will be writing our own Autumn poems. Remember to bring your home challenges in next week to share with the rest of the class.
Have a lovely weekend,
Miss Zimmerman, Mrs Bowden and Mrs Roberts.
