This week Class Three have been working hard in English. They have continued to create interesting writing linked to stories with familiar settings. The focus has been on including character’s feelings, using wow words and similes to grab the reader’s attention. Next week they will be planning and writing their own stories.
In Maths we have been using partitioning to support adding and subtracting 2 and 3 digit numbers. Next week we will be looking at multiples of numbers and the homework will also focus on times tables knowledge. Children should know their 3, 4 and 5 times tables off by heart and we have been testing them on the 3 times table on Fridays.
In Art/Topic we have looked at cave paintings and Stone Age art. The children had a go at telling their own stories using symbols and discussed why the pictures were so important to communicate during the Stone Age. Next week each child will use clay to create their own piece of cave art by sculpting an authentic slab and engraving their cave art symbols into the clay.
