The time is just flying by. We are already in October and half term is just a few weeks away. The school has been full of excitement and enthusiasm for learning. Both the children and the staff seem to be buzzing with eagerness for knowledge and challenge.
There has been lots of traffic on our new website and I hope that everyone accessing it is able to find the information they need quickly and efficiently. If there is any feedback, we would love to hear about it as we are constantly looking for ways to improve practice. Blogs are posted in each year group on a Friday and we hope that this is giving parents a better insight into what their children are doing in school during the week as well as helping parents to support their children even further.
There has been a great deal going on and there is so much for us to look forward to. Our inaugural grandparent’s week is coming up during our last week in October and we hope that we have many families attending. Grandparents are so important to children and therefore having a chance for them to come specially into school to see what their grandchildren are doing is such a wonderful opportunity. We know that it will be a very special event and look forward to holding it for many years to come.
Please also keep an eye out for ‘parent workshops’ that will cover a range of topics. We will be holding these sessions to provide information regarding various aspects of either our curriculum or specific topics we teach in school. In order to reach as many parents as possible we will hold different timings for these events, both in school hours as well as in the evenings. If you are unable to attend, we will publish any handouts on our website or you can pick up a copy upon request, in the office. Please note that staff put in many additional hours to prepare and present these sessions, so we hope that you will show your support and attend as many sessions as you are able.
‘Working in Partnership for Success’ is key. It is this that will ensure ‘outstanding’ results for all of our children. When we are all able to work together, building partnerships while further enriching and enhancing all that we are able to offer to our children – then we will be successful. Let’s work together, keeping the children at the heart of everything that we do.
