In English, we have continued to take inspiration from our topic text, ‘Wild’, and our habitats work, focusing this week on non-fiction. We imagined the other sorts of creatures that might live in the jungle, particularly mini-beasts, and designed our own ‘superbug’! Our superbugs have lots of impressive features that help them survive in their habitat.
In maths we have been solving problems and carrying out mini-investigations involving money. We have had to remind ourselves that we only have certain coins to work with when creating different amounts. We have also been trying to work in the most systematic way possible when doing our investigations.
On Wednesday we had a fantastic day in the sunshine enjoying sports day. It was lovely to see so many of you there for the event and we hope that you enjoyed it. Huge thanks to Mrs Scott and Mr Morton (and other helpers) for their efforts in putitng together such a great event. Thanks also to the PTA who worked tirelessly serving a great selection of refreshments.
On Friday morning we visited our new classroom and met one of our new Year 3 teachers, Mrs Hodgkinson. We will have another hand-up morning next Thursday with both teachers. Key Stage 2, here we come!
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Lucas, Mrs Marsh and Mrs Scott
