Week 5 (01/02/2016)

This week has been very exciting. We had the lovely, and surprisingly calm, troll come into Class Three. The children came up with questions to ask the troll to help get the true story out about the Three Billy Goats Gruff. After interviewing the troll, Class Three found out the troll was called Miss Isy Troll and was actually a female. She had three baby trollets that were resting quietly under the bridge when some cruel goats came noisily trip trapping over the bridge. They were so loud that the little darlings woke up and didn’t stop screaming. This understandably put Miss Isy Troll in an incredibly bad mood. After interviewing the troll, Class Three felt it was important to get the other side of the story out. In pairs they wrote their own newspaper report using a template on the laptop.

In maths we have continued our fractions work. This is a tricky topic that some children find incredibly hard. We have looked at fractions of a shape, equivalent fractions, fractions of an amount as well as adding fractions.

Adding fractions

½ + ½ = 1 (whole) 1/3 + 2/3 = 1 (whole)
2/5 + 3/5 = 1 (whole) 7/10 + 3/10 = 1 (whole)

It was Mr Cosford’s last week with Class Three this week. He will be coming back to Crowmarsh in the Summer term. We will have another teacher coming to work with Class Three called Mr Morris. He will be working with us until the Easter holidays.

Primary Blogger

I sent home a slip last week about our primary blogger website (linked to the 100wc). Since then the layout of the website has changed so I have put together a thorough set of instructions to help you access it at home. I explained it in detail to the class on Friday and will send a paper copy home on Monday. I have also attached it below for anyone who would like to have a go at commenting on our class stories before Monday.
