Week 4 (25/09/17)

This week we have been writing stories about Paddington Bear. We watched a clip of the story ‘Paddington takes a bath’, and then used storyboards to plan our own story ending. We thought of lots of adventurous things that Paddington may have got up to!

In maths we have been looking at the =, < and > symbols. We know that = means ‘the same as’, < means ‘less than’ and > means ‘greater than.’ Could you give us pairs of numbers or calculations and ask us to put the right symbol in the middle? E.g. 1+3 ___  2+ 2,   or 17  ___  19.

In science we have continued to look at different materials and their properties. We watched a video of materials in action, focussing on why certain materials are used for certain products. We then worked in our groups to look at one particular material. We thought of lots of different things that were made from that material and then considered why it was a good material choice for those objects.

In art we found out about the different artists/illustrators who’ve brought Paddington to life over the years. We then had a go at drawing our own Paddington portraits. They’re all wonderful!

We were lucky enough to have ‘Prayer Space’ in school this week. Ask us about the activities we did, they were very peaceful and relaxing.

Have a lovely weekend!
