In English this week, we have been exploring Kennings and Haikus. We have read lots of poems in these styles and we have thought carefully about the features of the poems. We have had a go at writing our own Kennings and Haikus inspired by pictures from Ancient Egypt. Next week we will be looking at free verse poems.
In Maths, we have been revising our times tables and practising multiplication. We will be having a big focus on times tables over the next few weeks, please support the children to learn their tables at home too. Please also encourage the children to log on to www.activelearnprimary.co.uk and let us know if you have any problems with the interactive games.

In Science we have been looking at how the body receives oxygen and nutrients via the blood stream. Next week we will be looking at skeletons.
In History we have been researching about daily life in Ancient Egypt. We found out about entertainment, jewellery and games. All of the homework leaflets on homes in Ancient Egypt were fantastic and they are all now on the wall in the classroom.

In Computing, we have been continuing our work on Scratch. We have been selecting sprites and programming them to have a conversation. If anyone is keen to improve their typing, this BBC game develops skills in a fun way!
