In preparation for our trip to the Tower of London next week, we have been learning lots about London. First we looked at maps of the UK and located London on the map. Then we looked at maps of central London and highlighted some of the main tourist attractions. We noticed a special symbol
for underground stations and saw that many of them were very near to tourist attractions. So we looked at the map of underground stations and routes and talked about how you can change trains to get to your destination.
We learnt how to draw the Tower of London, a Beefeater, the Crown Jewels and Tower Bridge. We watched the opening of Parliament and saw the queen wearing some of her jewels.
We have been reading Gangsta granny by David Walliams. It is a story about a boy and his granny who plan to steal the Crown jewels. All of the children have really enjoyed the story and have been totally gripped.
I look forward to seeing 28 little happy faces on Monday morning ready to tackle The Tower of London!!
