Week 3 (09/03/2015)

Now the sun is shining people are really enjoying lunch times (and break times) on the play ground; soon when the grass is dry, we might be going on the field. Many of the children love playing Man Hunt: this is a game that is a mix of tag and hide and seek.

On Wednesday in collective worship we had a very special visitor, Tom Farrell, who was an evacuee in World War 2 (WW2).  Tom has written a book called Tim Oliver which is based on his experience in WW2.

Throughout the week in literacy we have been discussing whether or not the poem called Wind, written by Ted Hughes, could exist without its metaphorical language; we are currently using dictionaries and our thesauruses to edit words and make new sentences.

In maths we have been doing pie charts which have pushed us into the challenge zone and out of our comfort zone.  After all this work we need our playtimes to rest our brains!
