This week in English we have continued to read Stig of the Dump. We have been working on using a range of conjunctions in our writing and we had a go at a drama activity. At the end of the week, we started to plan our own police reports which explain the events during and after the break-in at Granny’s house. We will be writing our reports next week.
In Maths, we started the week by learning about Roman Numerals. We have also recapped perimeter and learnt how to calculate the area of a shape. Towards the end of the week we looked at the properties of various shapes.
On Wednesday Emily Diserens came in to talk to us about India and the work that she does at an Indian orphanage. Some of us got to dress up in Indian clothing and we learnt about what life is like for children living in this area of India. As a school we would really like to support the work that Emily is doing so we will be collecting donations for her ‘Project Pants’ – please see the school newsletter for more information.
Please remember to keep reading to earn house points and remember to hand in homework from the Takeaway menu!
