In English and guided reading we have almost finished reading ‘How to Live Forever’ by Colin Thompson. We have been thinking carefully about Peter and how he would have been feeling as the old man led him to the Ancient Child. In guided reading on Thursday, we worked in our groups to give each other feedback on our reading fluency. In English, we have been learning how to accurately use speech punctuation and we have continued to develop our understanding of adjectives and adverbs.
In maths, we started the week by learning how to divide numbers by 10 and 100. We know that when we divide a number by 10/ 100 the digits of the number all move one/ two places down the place value grid. Later in the week we started learning about fractions. We thought about what a fraction is and what it means, we will later be moving onto equivalent fractions.
On Monday we continued preparing for our stop frame animations by painting the staging for our films.
Class 4 all had a great afternoon on Wednesday when we had our second cooking session with Mrs Bun the Baker.
There has been some great home learning this term, I am particularly enjoying reading the children’s explanations on whether or not they would want to live forever!
