Week 3 (22/01/18)

This week in our writing we have been learning how to use a variety of conjunctions to link our ideas such as ‘because’, ‘but’, ‘so’ and ‘and’. We also had a wonderful trip to Reading museum to experience what school life would have been like in the Victorian days. We had a go at writing on slates and using ink pens to write in copy books. We also did some drill exercises and sang the hymn ‘All things Bright and Beautiful’. Later in the week we planned and wrote recounts of our visit.

In maths we have been continuing to look at division. We have focussed particularly on problem solving. We have used sharing and grouping to solve a variety of problems.

We have been learning to draw pictures which help us work to out the answers. Ask us to show you.

In art we have begun looking at the work of Lowry. We had to compare two of his paintings and imagine that we were in them. We then had to think about the different things we could see and hear, as well as how we felt, what we were doing in the picture, what we liked and what we didn’t like.

Have a lovely weekend,
