This week the children have been continuing the theme ‘All about me’. They started the week by sharing their weekend news, talking about how they had spent the weekend with their families. In Literacy, the children have been learning about labelling. They have drawn pictures of their family and labelled the members. We have started talking about what learning is creating a thought shower of our ideas. In Numeracy the children have been counting objects, giving one name for each object, the children have been matching numerals to a group of objects. To practise this at home you could visit this website http://www.wmnet.org.uk/resources/gordon/GingerMen%20v2.swf . In phonics, he children have been continuing to play listening games to support them with learning their letters and sounds, interactive games to support with this can be found at http://www.letters-and-sounds.com/phase-1-games.html . The children have been continuing to practise the phonemes‘s’, ‘a’ and ‘t’.
During independent learning time the children have created road signs for use with the bikes outside, to encourage safe use of the bikes and scooters. On Wednesday, the children had their first P.E session with Mr Shorter, they explored different ways of moving and investigated the effects of exercise on their bodies.
Next week we will be beginning to think about what we do to keep our bodies healthy, we will read the story of ‘Oliver’s Vegetables’ and begin to learn about Harvest.
Have a lovely weekend,
