The buzz…..

Well, I warmly welcome you to our new school website. Now that many of our parents are seeing the website for the first time, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to write my first blog post.  I hope to update this at least once a week to give you an overview of the events and activities that have taken place in school.

The whole premise behind this website was to give our parents a better understanding into what their children were really doing while at school. Not only that, but to give our school a platform for quickly and easily sharing information that often gets lost in bookbags on the travel home.  Therefore, we hope that you really do use this website and get used to looking at it at least weekly, to keep updated on all the exciting things that we do each day.

We are now about to start our fourth week into the new school year. The children have all settled in extremely well to the new routines.  Our new reception children, especially, have settled incredibly well and the feedback on our new transition for these pupils has been excellent.

Over the past few weeks while I have been updating our prospectus and the website, I have been thinking about how to ‘bring our school to life’ through words. How do you capture the enthusiasm and excitement that our children have for learning?  How do you explain the passion our teachers demonstrate lesson after lesson, day after day?  But, as one headteacher who recently visited said, “You can walk into schools and feel it…..I can feel it here, you are all so welcoming and you can feel the ‘buzz.’”

If we have that ‘buzz,’ then we must be doing something right. And as I always say and will continue to say……if the children are truly at the heart of all that we do, then we will never go far wrong.

I think the only way to truly ‘explain’ our school, is to tell people to come and ‘experience’ our school.

Crowmarsh Gifford is truly an exceptional place to be, but don’t take my word for it……
