This week in Class R we read the story of Jack and The Beanstalk and then retold it in our own words. We all planted beans this week and then wrote instructions for planting a bean using our knowledge of letters and sounds.
In phonics we have been recapping our digraphs recognising them in words and then writing words containing digraphs such as ai, ee, oo, oa, or, ow, ar, ur, er. You could practise at home by writing rhyming words that contain one or more of these digraphs.
During independent learning time the children have been using the storytelling area to tell stories, ‘planting’ seeds in the soil and mixing cement to build houses.
Have a fantastic weekend,
Miss Zimmerman, Mrs Bowden and Miss James.
