Week 1 (8/1/18)

Welcome back! We hope that you all had a lovely Christmas break.

We have got straight on with our learning this week. In English and guided reading we are looking at ‘How to Live Forever’ by Colin Thompson. We have only read the first few pages but we have been looking really carefully at the incredibly detailed illustrations and we have been thinking about the missing book in the story.

In Maths we have been calculating the area of rectangles by counting squares as well as solving more in depth area problems. We have also started to think about what happens when we multiply or divide a number by 10 or 100.

In Computing this term we will be creating our own stop-frame animations so on Monday we looked at different examples and started to plan our own work. We have also started our geography topic by looking at where key cities in the UK are.

All children should have brought home a new takeaway homework grid. The maths key skills grid will remain the same for this term.

Well done to everyone who has continued to read regularly.
