This has been our final week learning about the Victorians and we have focused on one significant individual: Florence Nightingale. After finding out lots of information about her life, we looked at some good examples of biographies and picked out the main features. We discussed ways to vary our sentence starters and practised in our trios before planning Florence Nightingale biographies of our own. Later in the week we wrote our biographies, making sure we used the past tense, chronological order, neat presentation and a variety of sentence starters.

In science we have started to learn about habitats, looking at the different animals that are found in different climate regions (e.g. polar, desert, tropical) and how they have adapted to suit their environment.
