Week 1 (02/11/2015)

We hope you all had an enjoyable half term. This term will be very busy with lots of Christmas events to look forward to!

In English this term, we will be basing most of our work on the ‘See Inside Ancient Egypt’ book. We have started learning about instructional writing and we will also be looking at newspaper reports.

In Maths we have recapped doubling and halving this week. We have also been comparing fractions and recognising equivalents. We have been working hard at choosing the right level of ‘challenge’ for our independent work.

Well done to all of the children who auditioned for our Christmas performance, we will be letting the children know who has got a speaking part early next week and rehearsals will then start! Children who do have speaking parts must put in the effort to learn their lines.

If you have not yet returned a parents evening slip and would like an appointment, please contact one of us as soon as possible.

Homework task for this week –Maths task on fractions. This work needs to be handed in by Tuesday 10th November.

Homework diaries will be collected in every week (usually on a Tuesday), house points will be given to children who have read at least 4 times at home and have had their book signed by an adult.
