This week we enjoyed the last few days of golden, autumn leaves before they went soggy in the damp weather. We looked at examples of Andy Goldsworthy’s art, explored the grounds, collected a range of leaves and twigs and made our own natural artwork out of the things we found. We learnt how to use time connectives and wrote instructions to describe what we made and how we made it.
We have also been learning about Guy Fawkes and the gunpowder plot. We read about the plot and thought about the problems involved in moving the gunpowder safely and secretly. We wore Gunpowder Plot character face-masks and worked in groups to act out a scene. We also made hand puppets and acted out the main events. We have learnt lots of facts and information about Guy Fawkes and made some colourful firework pictures and sparkly rockets.
