I hope you all managed to enjoy your week off. It has been a jam-packed first week back.
On Monday we had our KS2 (Yr 3/4/5) auditions for the Christmas play this year. Lots of the children auditioned and they all did a fantastic job standing up in front of the other children. The parts will be announced next week.
We have also had the prayer space set up in the hall. The children have loved going in and seeing the space transformed into something special. They took part in a range of soothing activities and had time to think about themselves and other people around the world.
Maths
In maths this week we have focused on doubling and halving using partitioning.
Example:
| Doubling | Halving | |||||
| 12 | 12 | |||||
| (10 x 2 = 20) | ( 2+2 = 4 ) | (10 / 2 = 5) | ( 2 / 2 = 1 ) | |||
| 20 + 4 | 5 + 1 | |||||
| 24 | 6 | |||||
We finished the week by doing some practical activities in History. We made some woolly mammoths from nets.
