This week the children have started their new topic of ‘Celebrations’. We have discussed what they already know about different celebrations and have chosen some questions that the children would like to find the answers to.
In our literacy sessions the children have so far learnt about birthday celebrations, baptism and weddings. They have been comparing and contrasting birthday and wedding celebrations from different parts of the world. Ask your child to say ‘Happy Birthday’ to you in a different language!
In Art we have been looking at rangoli patterns. We had a go at colouring and then designing our own patterns.
In maths we have been adding and subtracting small numbers to, and from, 1 and 2 digit numbers. The children have been trying to hold the first number in their head and then count on or back to work out the answer.
TASK: Who can do some adding and subtracting at home?
