Week 4 (12/3/18)

Mr Morton returns!

Maths

We started the week reviewing and sharpening up on our fractions knowledge. Then we went onto Area and Perimeter, working in small groups to calculate the answer, which can be sometimes a missing number on the shape.  We have been introduced to simple algebra – the ’x’ is called the variant.

Area = length x width

Perimeter = the distance around the shape.

English

We have been editing and working in small marking groups checking off our success criteria. A good newspaper report needs to have: catchy headline, bold heading, a sensible picture, 3rd person and correct tenses (mainly past tense), facts and opinions, the WWWWHW and quotes and speech, correct punctuation, formal language.

RE

We are acting out the prophet Mohammad’s life story and some people are doing it in a comic strip style.

Grammar

We are doing prepositional phrases and transient active verbs.

Anything else!

Our Newspaper reports were brilliant – we whole class marked them, moving around the room and sitting behind somebody’s and them marking them off against the success criteria.

ALL items brought into school need to be NAMED please.

Please check the lost property boxes for lost items and stuff…….

The cloakrooms are getting messy and hard to keep tidy because so much ‘stuff’ is not being taken home.
