Week 4 (29/01/18)

In English and guided reading we have finished reading ‘How to Live Forever’ by Colin Thompson. In reading, we thought about the key message that the author is trying to give the reader in the book. Most of us thought that the book was explaining why it is good to want to grow up. In our English lessons we have been planning, writing and editing an alternative ending to the story. We have been imagining that Peter decided to open the book so we wrote about how this would happen and what would happen next.

In maths, we have been learning about fractions. We have been shading fractions in order to understand what the numerator and denominator mean. Later in the week we moved on to exploring equivalent fractions. We made equivalents using fraction pieces and then looked at the link between the numerator and denominator of fractions that are equivalent.

On Monday we continued to prepare for our stop frame animations by finishing painting/ drawing the staging for our films and making our film characters from Play Doh.
