English
We’ve been learning about compound sentences. A compound sentence must include 2 independent/main clauses and 1 co-ordinating conjunction. An independent/main clause must contain a subject and a verb. Co-ordinating conjunctions are also known as FANBOYS, these are, for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so.
Maths
In Maths we’ve been doing column addition and column subtraction. We have been adding and subtracting multiples of 10. We used resources to start with like base 10, place value grids and counters. Miss Smith gives us a calculation and we have to write it in 4 different ways. We have to calculate it, draw or build it, write a sensible story and explain it. We also do Maths in 3 stages that are, do it, twist it and deepen it.
Art
In Art we’ve been mixing colours and painting them in boxes to see what happens.
PE
In PE we’ve been doing gymnastics. On Mondays we do shapes and on Fridays we do movement in different ways. Sometimes if we’ve got time we play a game.
Fluency
In Fluency we’ve been doing multiplication and division. We’ve been looking at equal groups.
Geography
In Geography we’ve been looking at Continents and Oceans. We have a Geography board and there are questions about the Continents and the Oceans. We had a World map and we had to label the Continents and Oceans. Then we had to colour it in.
