This week we have continued our topic of ‘Celebrations’. The children have been busy finding out about different celebrations that take place all over the world.
In our literacy sessions the children have learnt about Hanukkah, Diwali, Ramadan and Holi. They have written about the main traditions and customs of each celebration, making comparisons between the different festivals.
In maths we have been learning about positional language. The children went outside and listened very carefully to instructions in order to get themselves into the correct position. We have also been looking at measurements. The children have measured different objects using non-standard measures (such as cubes and beads) and standard measures of metres and centimetres.
This week we have begun to learn the songs from our Christmas Nativity Play. The children have picked up the words really quickly so will hopefully be sharing these songs with you at home. Enjoy!
TASK: Ready for next week who can draw and describe a snowman? Be as inventive as you like!
The next 3 children for Show & Tell, on Friday 20th November, will be:
Pheobe Knight
Hazel Welch
Jack Brandram
