Week 5 (29/06/2015)

On Tuesday we enjoyed a very hot but fantastic Sports Day. KS1 had a super afternoon, everyone took part with great gusto and enthusiasm.

In our English lessons we have learning about adverbs, trying out new words and using them in our writing.

In maths we have been learning how to measure in centimetres and worked in groups outside. We used some bricks and a board to make ramps of different heights to run cars down them and measure how far the cars travelled. Most of us found that the higher the ramp, the further the car went. We are learning how to record results accurately and recognise when things go wrong. To do this task we had to work cooperatively in a group, a skill mastered by some!

We are looking forward to Science Week, next week. We have discussed a range of experiments, tasks and investigations.

Thank you so much to those who brought in resources as requested last week. A plastic apron or old shirt might be useful for next week just in case the budding scientists go crazy!
