Week 4 (22/06/2015)

This week the children have used their knowledge of letters and sounds to write something about themselves to create a book to give to their new teacher in year one.  They wrote about what they did at the weekend, exciting events such as going to Legoland that they are looking forward too as well as what they enjoy learning in school.

In Maths we have been using language of size to compare the height of plants including taller than, shorter than, tallest and shortest, as well as solve problems relating to the height such as adding given numbers and finding the height difference between plants.

In phonics the children have been focusing on finding the correct digraph to represent a phoneme and writing these in different words. The children should still be reading daily at home to practise using their knowledge and understanding.

The children have been continuing to practise their skills needed for sports day including jumping two footed, throwing the Javelin and running within the lines on the track. The children are very much looking forward to sports day on Tuesday 30th June; we hope you will be joining us as spectators!
