In our topic work this week, we have been learning about how dinosaurs might have spent their day and have even written our own dinosaur diaries! We had to remember to write in the first person – ask us what this means.
On Wednesday we had a fascinating trip to the Natural History Museum in Oxford. We explored the dinosaur exhibits in the main part of the museum and also took part in a workshop where we handled fossilised dinosaur bones, teeth and even dinosaur poo! Ask us about some of the interesting things we found out.
In maths we have been using known number facts to help us solve more complicated calculations (for example if we know that 3+5 = 8, then we can solve 23+5 or 83 +5 too!) We can also do this when subtracting , e.g. 5-2=3 helps us solve 35-2 and 65-2.) Ask us to try some more at home.
Later in the week we worked in groups to design, create and then describe our own dinosaurs. We also measured and marked the lengths of some dinosaurs on the playground; some were really long!
TASK: Who can create a factfile about a dinosaur?
