This week we have been Spring Nature Detectives! On our village walk we looked for signs of Spring, particularly how the plants and flowers had changed since our Winter walk. Ask us what we spotted and what we found out. In class we discussed the clocks changing and the fact that we have more hours of daylight in Spring and Summer. We wrote our own factfiles about Spring, including details about what happens to the weather, to animals and to plants.
Later in the week we identified and sorted common flowers and looked at their structure. Ask us to tell you about the main parts of a flower or tree.
In maths we have been continuing to work on place value, stating how many tens and ones there are in 2 digit numbers, making them with money and finding them on a 100 square.
After the holidays our topic will be ‘Dinosaurs.’ We hope you all have a relaxing Easter break.
TASK: Who can tell us what they already know about dinosaurs and what they’d like to find out? You can use the template provided or create your own.
