This week we have been studying poetry, reading it and reciting it in groups within the class. We have been working on a tongue twister called Betty Botter, which is very tricky to recite without getting in a twist! We worked hard to count the syllables in Limericks and also thought about which words rhymed.

Two Owls and a Hen,
Four Larks and a Wren,
Have all built their nests in my beard!’
In Maths we have been revising a number of skills and moving on to working with some bigger numbers.
Last Friday we had an exciting time in the playground when we re-enacted the Great Fire of London.
We used cardboard boxes to make a model of the bakery in Pudding Lane, London. The fire started in the bakery and spread along the row of houses. Where one house is missing, it made a gap in the row of houses and stopped the fire spreading. After the houses were burnt all that was left was ash.
There were great screams of delight as the houses burnt in the playground.
