This week we have had fun writing our own versions of Little Red Riding Hood. Have you ever wondered what the story would be like if it wasn’t set in a wood? Some of ours are set on the moon, in the jungle, at the North Pole or in Sweetieland, to name but a few! Having thought of and described our fantastic new settings for the story, we set about creating a new baddie instead of the wolf. Lava man, Dragon Boy and many other baddies have now been born! We finished the week by writing our fabulous stories.
In Maths, we have been practising counting in 10s, 5s and 2s. Ask us what patterns we noticed.
In Science, we discussed Little Red Riding Hood’s cloak. We decided that, while it was warm, soft and a lovely colour, it was not suitable for wearing in the rain. Red Riding Hood needed a waterproof cloak! So we planned an investigation to test which material would be best to make it with. Ask us what we did and what we found out.
Our first topic after half term will be a two week topic about Inventions.
