This week we have been building up to writing a well-known fairy tale. First we did a storyboard of the 6 main stages of the story, then we wrote a caption to go with each picture and finally we wrote the story in our books. We looked back at our stories, read them to each other and tried to find ways to edit and improve them.
In Maths, we have been learning the names of 3D shapes – ask us which ones we can remember. We talked about their properties, discussing which had curved or flat faces and how many corners, edges and faces they each have. Later in the week, we revised days of the week and months of the year – ask us to tell you the months in order!
In Art we are starting to look at the work of Van Gogh. We recreated ‘Starry Night’ using oil pastels.
TASK: Who can design a new ‘baddy’ for a fairy tale? You could describe them and explain their crimes using a ‘Wanted’ style poster or use your own ideas to present your work.
