Week 4 (26/01/2015)

This week in English, we have been looking at poetry. In this unit of work, we will be focusing on the language used in poems e.g. alliteration, similes and metaphors. We will be continuing with this work next week and writing more of our own poems.

In Maths this week, we have learnt about right angles and acute/ obtuse angles. We have also been identifying parallel and perpendicular lines. Towards the end of the week, we started to explore lines of symmetry. Next week, we will be recapping mental and written methods for division as well as learning about factor pairs and number bonds to 1000.

In Geography this week, we thought carefully about Chanda who is a typical woman living in Chembakolli. We learnt about her daily life and we thought about how it compares to our life. Next week, we will be thinking about the jobs that people have in Chembakolli as well as the tea making process.

In Science this week we have setting up our own investigations about evaporation and condensation. Next week we will be learning about the Water Cycle.

In Computing this week, we have taken all of the photos that we need for our stop-frame animations. Next week we will be starting to put out animations together.

We are really enjoying our Basketball sessions with our coach from Reading Rockets.
