Well Christmas is definitely in full swing here at Crowmarsh. Classrooms are being decorated with tinsel and baubles. Again, another huge thank you to Mr Keable (Freddie and Ruby’s Grandpa) for bringing us another beautiful Christmas tree for our hall. Our reception class have already decorated it ready for everyone to admire.
This week saw the end of term music concert where the year 3’s showed off their new talents in playing their violins and some of our year 4, 5 and 6 pupils continued to shine. So many talents but it is the effort that these children put in which allows them to excel in all that they do!
We saw some amazing photos from The Snowman in London, where many families were still able to go and enjoy the magic and music of a beloved Christmas classic. I’m so glad that so many families and staff were still able to go. Great Ormond Street have already sent us a letter of thanks saying that, ‘Our very special treat allowed many children and their families to be very happy.’ Because of our donation of over 100 tickets, we helped bring a bit more enchantment to some of Great Ormond Street’s children and their families. Thank you to our parents who helped make this possible. This has truly demonstrated our school value of Service.
On Wednesday afternoon, the children who stayed at school had the choice of watching the Live Stage Show of The Snowman (from Birmingham) or spending an afternoon of games and sports with Mr Shorter, Mrs Bailie and Mr Cosford. Fun was had by all and we did have a terrific afternoon.
We are really looking forward to the next few weeks. We have so much planned and the children are sure to be exhausted by the end. We hope that you and your families are able to come and enjoy the Christmas shows, the Carols By Candlelight, and the Christmas Reading Morning for parents and their children. Did you know that in our school, every child performs in a Christmas play or Nativity? Many hours of hard work and preparation go into making these performances a success! So, the children are hoping for a full house.
In Collective Worship we have been continuing the theme of encouraging others and also begun to look at what ‘fortitude’ means. Children have already begun to tell me how they have demonstrated fortitude both in and out of school. What dynamic children we have!
