It has been a busy week as we crank up to Christmas. We have been busy singing, learning our words and having lots of rehearsals for the play.
This week in English we have been thinking about information writing and have focussed on the topic Cats & Dogs. We have discussed the difference between fact and fiction and have used non-fiction texts to find factual information in preparation for writing our own books. We have also been learning about compound words and suffixes.
In maths lessons we have been learning about multiplication and have focussed on our 2, 5 and 10 times tables. We have also been measuring in centimetres and metres.
Homework task: Write 10 sentences that include compound words.
Next week we hope to make Christmas cakes, you will need a small clean baked bean tin, no taller than 6cm. If you have more than one please can we have your spare tins.
Please look out for a note in the book-bag with details.
