In English we have been writing our own continuations of The Promise by Nicola Davies. We have been thinking carefully about what the next thief might do with the acorns. Class 4 have all been thinking about how we can edit and improve work ensuring that feedback has been acted on. In reading we have explored how and why the planting of the acorns changed the people in the city.
In maths this week we have been continuing to learn about rounding numbers. This has included rounding numbers with up to 4 digits to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000. In our fluency sessions we have been looking at how to represent a mathematical problem on a comparative bar model. There is a times table task for half term in home learning books.
In history we completed our Mayan headdresses, they are all now displayed on the wall of the classroom and we are really pleased with them.
In Computing we finished off our animated versions of the beginning of The Promise.
Thank you to all parents who came to a parent appointment this week, I hope you found it useful.
Have a lovely half term!
