Week 7 (13/10/2014)

This week the children have been looking at teens numbers and working out how many tens and ones (units) they are made of. Keep practising reading and writing teens numbers at home. Some of us can read and write larger numbers and can represent their tens/ones using Diennes equipment and coins (10p and 1p). The children have also been ordering numbers up to 30 and finding a number that comes between two given numbers, e.g. 13, _? , 15.

In English, the children have been watching fantasy stories in video format. They have been re-telling and re-enacting the stories, describing and creating new characters and working really hard on including exciting descriptive language. Ask us about the ‘wow’ words we’ve used in our work and what super-powers our sea creatures have!!!

In Art we have created our own rainbow fish using collage and copious amounts of glitter!

REMINDER: next week we will be enjoying our Autumn Nature Detectives week so please ensure the children have wellies and raincoats in school all week .

TASK: Who can keep a weather diary? Record what the weather is like each day, in words and/or pictures, then bring them in on Friday 24th October.
