This week the children have been looking at teens numbers and working out how many tens and ones (units) they are made of. Keep practising reading and writing teens numbers at home. Some of us can read and write larger numbers and can represent their tens/ones using Diennes equipment and coins (10p and 1p). The children have also been ordering numbers up to 30 and finding a number that comes between two given numbers, e.g. 13, _? , 15.
In English the children have been learning to use more descriptive language in their writing. We have looked at poems, stories and pictures to inspire our own fantastic descriptive writing. Ask us about the ‘wow’ words we’ve used in our work and why it is important to use them.
In Art we have been creating under the sea scenes using a step-by-step guide to drawing seahorses.
REMINDER: next week we will be enjoying our Autumn Nature Detectives week so please ensure the children have wellies and raincoats in school all week .
PE KITS – please make sure your child has leggings/tracksuit bottoms and extra socks in their PE bag as the children will often be going outside for PE.
TASK: Who can keep a weather diary? Record what the weather is like each day, in words and/or pictures, then bring them in on Friday 23rd October.
