Week 6 (8/10/18)

This week in English this week we have recapped the grammar diagramming work that we have done over the last few weeks and also we had a look at how we can purple pen our writing in order to edit and improve it. Later in the week we learnt about co-ordinating conjunctions and we thought about how we can use these in our sentences. Next week we will writing our own stories that continue from the end of The Promise.

In maths we have been drawing number lines. We have been ensuring that all of our number lines have consistent spacing and are correctly labelled. We have been drawing number lines with different scales e.g. 0 – 100, 300 – 900, 1000 – 5000. We have then been positioning a range of numbers on the number line. Throughout the week we have been reminding ourselves that on a number line there are numbers before 0.

In geography this week we started thinking about tourism and our local area. We considered why people would want to visit our local area and what there is for visitors to do. Next Monday we will be visiting Bridge Villa Campsite to survey some of the visitors to find out why they have visited Crowmarsh and what they like about our local area. Please ensure that your child has a coat in school on Monday.

Please remember to read with your child as often as possible. I will continue to take in reading records on a Monday.
