This week we have been looking for signs of summer, despite the weather! Armed with clipboards and paper, we walked around the school grounds looking and listening carefully, jotting down things we noticed and making sketches. When we got back to the classroom we wrote all about what summer means to us, using a format of our choice. Ask us what we wrote about.
As part of our Houses and Homes topic, we looked at lots of pictures of homes around the world, including some very unusual spaces and places to live! We discussed the different homes, compared their different features and thought about the practicalities of each before designing our own very unusual and imaginative homes! Ask us about our designs.
In maths, we have been working practically to consolidate our understanding of number bonds to 10 and how this can help us solve addition calculations. Ask us to explain how we use egg boxes in our maths lessons!
Thanks for supporting your children with the homework tasks this term – we have been really impressed with the quality of work produced; it seems as if the children (and perhaps some parents!) have really enjoyed getting stuck into the tasks.
