We have been learning how to recognise proper nouns and identify them in our reading. We have learnt that the verbs am, are and is are all forms of the verb be. They are in the present tense. We have continued to focus on books by Anthony Browne, this week we have used Willy the Champ to support our writing. We have loved sharing the story and wrote the story in the first person and in the past tense to demonstrate how to use the skills we have been working on this week. We watched a video about Anthony Browne and saw how he created his characters in his books.
We have learnt how to draw a gorilla like the pictures featured in his books. They all looked great and everyone felt proud of their efforts.
In science we have been learning about thermometers and how to read the temperature. We made the temperature go up by warming the thermometer in our hands, and go down below freezing by wrapping it in an ice pack. As Tuesday afternoon was so sunny we very carefully took the thermometers outside to read the temperature which was pretty hot!
