This week in English we have written our own police reports detailing what happened when the thieves broke into Granny’s house. We thought carefully about the facts that we needed to include and we made sure that our writing was in the correct style. We will be continuing with our work on Stig of the Dump until half term.
On Wednesday, comedian and writer Dave Smith came into school. He explained to us the writing process that comedians go though and he talked about how comedians often make jokes about ordinary events such as a Sunday morning lie-in! We had a go at writing about a family activity and we tried to make sure that our writing was entertaining to read.
In Maths, we have been recapping decimals and we have been adding/ subtracting tenths and hundredths. We have also been learning how to convert units of measure and apply our knowledge to word problems.
In History, we have started to learn about Boudicca’s rebellion. We have been thinking about who Boudicca was and how the events would have impacted on other Celts and Romans. We will be continuing with this next week.
Please remember that next Wednesday we are visiting the Oxfordshire Museum in Woodstock. All children will need a packed lunch and a drink.
Please remember to keep reading to earn house points and remember to hand in homework from the Takeaway menu!
