Dear Parents/Carers,
The children were entertained by Spangle the Clown on Monday morning which they loved. In the afternoon they went to watch year three performing circus skills they had practiced during the afternoon session. The children sat and listened extremely well.
This week in class R we shared the story ‘The Sandwich that Max made’ The children joined in with the repeating phrases especially ‘that started the sandwich that Max made’ which they heard on every page. In family groups the children recalled the order the ingredients were put into Max’s sandwich. On Thursday the children gave instructions ‘How to make a Jam Sandwich’ and then sequenced pictures.
In Math, Merlin our math dragon challenged the children to make a number line. During the week they have worked as a class and independently finding objects around the classroom and outside to create their number line.
We have been looking at artwork by Giuseppe Arcimboldo who uses fruits and vegetables in his artwork. The children then used fruit and vegetables to create their own Arcimboldo inspired pictures. We shared the story from the bible of feeding the five thousand and talked about how sharing is important and how we can share in school.
Thank you to all those who have spent time with adults at home to complete home learning. Remember you can bring home learning in whenever you have completed it and share it with the class in school. You have two more weeks to complete home learning from your ‘All about me’ home learning menu.
Have a great weekend,
Miss Zimmerman, Mrs Bowden and Mrs Roberts.
