Week 5 (02/02/2015)

This week in English, we have been continuing to look at poetry. We have been learning about how we can use adverbs to make poetry more exciting. We have also written our own acrostic poems using imaginative and descriptive language. Next week we will be learning about informal letter writing. We will be planning and writing letters to a child in Chembakolli.

In Maths this week, we have been recapping expanded division and we have learnt about factor pairs. We have also been multiplying with money.

In Geography this week, we thought about markets in Chembakolli and we compared them to Wallingford market. We also learnt about the types of jobs that people living in Chembakolli have. In particular we thought about tea pickers and how tea gets from the plant to our mug!

In Science this week we have been learning about the water cycle and we have set up our own investigation about evaporation. Next week, we will be reviewing all of our work this term.

In RE, we will be comparing the Hindu creation story with the story in the Bible. Next week we will be learning about how Hindu’s worship at home.

In Computing this week, some of us have used our pictures to create our stop-frame animations. We are really pleased with the results! The other half of the class have been busy creating a collage of Chembakolli village. Next week we will be swapping over to complete the Computing and art work.
