The composition is moving into some really interesting waters. We have been studying how to bring more sophistication to writing by taking a more cinematic approach, starting off on a very broad focus and gradually focusing in to a main point or question. The class seem to have taken very well to this and already I have seen a lot of significant improvements. Alongside this, we have just started studying a new class novel, Reckless by Cornelia Funke. This is a beautifully written book which we will use to learn more about writer’s style but most importantly, how to apply that to writing.
Maths
It’s still percentages, and that’s as simple as it is. Some children are still working through some basics of fluency while others are pushing towards some really tough problems leaving a spread working everywhere in between. It’s just one of those topics that needs a lot of attention.
