In English this week we have read ‘Wolves’ by Emily Gravett. We thought carefully about how this text has been written as a book within a book and we looked at how the illustrations help to tell the story. Then we planned, wrote and edited a piece of writing which compared ‘The Wolves in the Walls’ and ‘Wolves’.
In Maths we have been continuing with our multiplication work. We have learnt how to use the expanded column method to multiply numbers such as 329 x 4 and we have also been multiplying money e.g. £4.78 x 8.
We have been working on our silent movies this week. We have been in groups planning the movie and thinking about the characters, props and location for the film.
In history this week we used the Internet to research Julius Caesar. We found out facts about him such as –
- He was born on either the 12th or 13th July 100 BC in Rome
- He was a leader in the Roman army and was also very involved in politics
- He was assassinated in 44BC
Homework & Reading
There has been some great homework this week including a real mini pond showing all of the stages of a tadpole/frog life cycle and several models of animal habitats.
