This week we have been looking at poetry in English. We have read ‘Commotion in the Ocean’ by Giles Andreae (Friday’s visiting author) and have tried to find rhyming words and good descriptive words in the text. We have also created list poems and added our own verses to other under the sea poems that we’ve read.
In maths we have been practising doubling numbers up to 5 (some of us can double numbers up to 10!) Ask us to explain what doubling is at home. We have also been working out what one more or one less than a number (up to 20) is. Some of us have even been finding 2, 3 or 4 more than a given number!
In topic sessions we have sorted things found under the sea into ‘living’ or ‘non-living’, discussing what living things all have in common.
We have also been busy learning a poem and creating art work for our Harvest Festival.
Task: Have a go at practising your number bonds to 5 and beyond on this maths game:

If you want to you could record your number bonds in number sentences and/or pictures you can bring them in to show us.
